Basketball Game Preview: Otselic Valley Vikings vs. DeRuyter Rockets

Otselic Valley hasn't had much luck against DeRuyter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Otselic Valley Vikings will square off against the DeRuyter Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Otselic Valley is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since December 11, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Brookfield Central 60-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

While DeRuyter didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 48-38 win over McGraw on Friday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Eagles are ranked 683rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Otselic Valley has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for DeRuyter, their record is now 6-1.

Otselic Valley might still be hurting after the 62-37 loss they got from DeRuyter in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Otselic Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
