Volleyball Recap: East Wake Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

East Wake Academy lost against Roxboro Community back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bulldogs since Thursday.

Despite the loss, East Wake Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Schmidt had 29 assists and 15 digs. Schmidt is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Emerson Morris was another key player, getting 13 kills, six digs, and two blocks.

East Wake Academy dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Roxboro Community, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

East Wake Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Raleigh Charter on the 2nd. As for Roxboro Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Franklin Academy on the 2nd.
