Baseball Game Preview: St. Paul Cardinals vs. Yoakum Bulldogs

The St. Paul Cardinals will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Yoakum Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Paul challenged Tidehaven on Friday. St. Paul fell 7-4 to Tidehaven. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Paul saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CJ Fogle, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Blaine Humes was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Yoakum came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Marlins.

Yoakum pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for St. Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
