Baseball Recap: Argonaut Has No Trouble Against Rosemont

Argonaut had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Rosemont on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 10-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Tuesday.

Brayden Dewald made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Argonaut's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 5-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Dewald was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Clayton Hardy was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Robert Cable, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Argonaut kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosemont only managed six hits.

Argonaut has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rosemont, they dropped their record down to 7-17-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Argonaut and Rosemont will both be playing Bradshaw Christian the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Wolverines will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
