After losing to Carey the last time they met, Hopewell-Loudon decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hopewell-Loudon blew past Carey 15-8 on Saturday.
 Araceli Velasquez made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Velasquez was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with two  triples, five  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Sidney Brickner was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Avery Landers, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-1.
 Hopewell-Loudon  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least ten  hits in five consecutive  contests  dating back to last season.
Hopewell-Loudon's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopewell-Loudon will challenge St. Paul at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Carey, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Upper Sandusky  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
