Softball Game Preview: Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley NIGHTHAWKS vs. West Lyon Wildcats

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley is 1-9 against West Lyon since June of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The NIGHTHAWKS will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Western Christian with a sharp 11-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the NIGHTHAWKS in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, West Lyon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Central Lyon get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

West Lyon pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from West Lyon in their previous matchup back in May. Can the NIGHTHAWKS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
