Softball Game Preview: Centralia Orphans vs. Belleville East Lancers

The Centralia Orphans will head out on the road to face off against the Belleville East Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Centralia 1.6, Belleville East 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Centralia needed a bit of extra time to put away Mt. Vernon. They won by a run and slipped past the Rams 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Orphans.

Meanwhile, Belleville East waltzed into their match on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came out on top against the Musketeers by a score of 6-1.

Belleville East's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Centralia, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
