Softball Game Preview: Alexander Bulldogs vs. Clemens Buffaloes

The Alexander Bulldogs will challenge the Clemens Buffaloes at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Alexander didn't have quite enough to beat Zapata and fell 5-4.

Kendra Mancha and Carmen Perez did some serious damage despite the final result: Mancha went a perfect2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double, while Perez scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI Mancha has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Clemens has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.4 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 14-6 to Steele.

Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Clemens, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
