Football Game Preview: East Mecklenburg Eagles vs. Providence Panthers + How To Watch

East Mecklenburg hasn't had much luck against Providence recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Mecklenburg took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 19-13 W over Ballantyne Ridge. That six point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

East Mecklenburg found their leader in sophomore Aiden Donnelly, who rushed for 103 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 112 yards and one touchdown. Donnelly's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.

Meanwhile, Providence won against Butler last Friday with 27 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 27-0 victory over Rocky River. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The victory got Providence back to even at 3-3. As for East Mecklenburg, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.

East Mecklenburg took a serious blow against Providence in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 60-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Panthers' Jackson Debe, who threw for 226 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.
