Baseball Recap: St. Stanislaus Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Stanislaus can now relate to. They fell just short of the Wesson Cobras by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Rock-a-Chaws couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jackson Orozco was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Stanislaus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Dartez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

St. Stanislaus' defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Wesson, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

As of now, neither St. Stanislaus nor the Cobras have any future games scheduled.
