Volleyball Recap: Hillsboro Hawks vs. West Plains Zizzers

After flying high against Poplar Bluff last Tuesday, Hillsboro came back down to earth. The Hillsboro Hawks came up short against the West Plains Zizzers on Saturday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.

Kendall Holland paced Hillsboro's offense, picking up nine kills. Holland got some help from Jersey Robinson and her 14 assists. Finally, Holland was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Mia Duggins was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs and two aces.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 17-11-4. As for West Plains, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 27-11.

Hillsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Plains has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Farmington on the 29th.
