Football Game Preview: Exeter Township Eagles vs. Muhlenberg Muhls

Exeter Township is a perfect 10-0 against Muhlenberg since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Muhls at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Exeter Township has six wins , while Muhlenberg has seven dating back to last season).

Exeter Township is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Ephrata: they outscored them in every quarter. The Eagles never let the Mountaineers get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Friday. Those 24 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Exeter Township got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leomar Brown out in front who rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Brown's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. Jacob Hafer was another key player, rushing for 79 yards on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Exeter Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Exeter Township's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Ephrata's side was Aidan Dauble, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.

Meanwhile, Muhlenberg won against Governor Mifflin last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Muhls enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over Elizabethtown. Muhlenberg's victory was all the more impressive since the Bears were averaging only 14.33 points allowed on the season.

Exeter Township's record now sits at 6-0. As for Muhlenberg, their record is now an identical 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Exeter Township against Muhlenberg when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
