Doherty hasn't had much luck against Cheyenne Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will host the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Doherty has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brody Noll was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Doherty is 2-1 when Noll posts three or more hits, but 8-11 otherwise. Derek Graham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty on Monday and fell 5-4.
Luke Rossow got Cheyenne Mountain off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Rossow has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hudson Chou made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavin Brown, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Cheyenne Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Doherty, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Cheyenne Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Doherty has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Cheyenne Mountain, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Doherty's sizable advantage in that area, the Hawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
