Volleyball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Triumphs

The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights beat the Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets 3-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

In the three sets Academy for Academic Excellence was on fire: they won each by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 13-25, 25-9, 25-12.

Brin Bryant paced Academy for Academic Excellence's offense, picking up 16 kills. Bryant got some help from Colbie Tworek and her 18 assists. Tworek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 12 aces.

Academy for Academic Excellence has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Academy for Academic Excellence has already played their next game (against Aquinas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, they will host Calvary Baptist at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Rockets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
