Softball Recap: Orting Takes a Loss

If Orting was riding high fresh off their 22-7 takedown of Clover Park on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals lost 16-1 to the Steilacoom Sentinels on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 on Monday.

Orting's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Steilacoom, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orting will welcome Fife at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Steilacoom, they will host Franklin Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
