Basketball Recap: Fannindel Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fannindel duked it out withComo-Pickton on Thursday. The Fannindel Falcons had to suffer through a 71-23 loss at the hands of the Como-Pickton Eagles. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Fannindel's loss came despite strong showings from Korshonti Aubrey and Zaiannah Aubrey. Korshonti posted five points and 12 rebounds, while Zaiannah earned no points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fannindel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Fannindel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Como-Pickton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Fannindel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-44 defeat against Big Sandy on the 27th. As for Como-Pickton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-30 loss against Blue Ridge on the 27th.
