Recap: Foard Tigers vs. Hickory Red Tornadoes
The Foard Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-40 loss at the hands of Hickory. Foard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.
Aiden Ollis and Carson Bess certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ollis scored 12 points, while Bess scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ollis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Herman, who scored seven points.
Hickory's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamien Little, who scored 12 points. Zane Krenzel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Foard has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Hickory, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will take on St. Stephens at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephens is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Hickory, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Statesville at 7:30 p.m. Statesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Hickory is ranked 18th).
