Dimmitt extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 16-6. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roosevelt Eagles, sneaking past 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 13-11 defeat.
Angel Esqueda was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
As for Roosevelt, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 10th.
On Roosevelt's side, Caleb Daniel put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Daniel was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Roosevelt's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 5-1 (and 9-10-1 when he doesn't).
Daniel wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Macias, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
