Recap: Citronelle Wildcats vs. Chickasaw Chieftains
The Citronelle Wildcats were the 50-47 winner over the Chickasaw Chieftains when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Citronelle took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chickasaw on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Citronelle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Chickasaw is ranked 134th).
Loss or not, Citronelle got some senior leadership from Justin Adams who scored 14 points and Anthony Rivers who scored 8 points. Adams scored a full 31.1% of Citronelle's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for Citronelle and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Chickasaw, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Citronelle will take on Robertsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robertsdale is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Chickasaw, they will head out on the road to face off against Mobile Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
