After losing to New Britain the last time they met, East Catholic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Golden Hurricanes on Friday.

East Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

When it comes to explaining why New Britain lost, don't look at Mia Zayas. Despite the final result, she had 26 digs. Another player making a difference was Honesty Mercado, who had three digs and three aces.

East Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for New Britain, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, East Catholic will be playing at home against Berlin at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for New Britain, they will head out to square off against Rocky Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
