Basketball Game Preview: Beachwood Bison vs. Trinity Trojans

Beachwood is 0-5 against Trinity since November of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Beachwood Bison will head out to square off against the Trinity Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Beachwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Beachwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to Independence. The game marked the Bison's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Beachwood had strong showings from Zo? Walters, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and six steals, and Lexi Jaffe, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Walters is becoming a predictor of Beachwood's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Goldi Aschkenasy, who had five points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Beachwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Trinity entered their tilt with Fairview on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 59-24 win over the Warriors. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Beachwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Beachwood was dealt a bruising 68-17 loss at the hands of Trinity in their previous meeting back in February. Can Beachwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
