Recap: Duchesne Eagles vs. Grand County Red Devils
The Duchesne Eagles pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 76-55 loss at the hands of Grand County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Duchesne has suffered since November 28, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Toney, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Toney is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Lane Berry was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds.
Duchesne now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Grand County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Duchesne will head out on the road to take on San Juan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in San Juan's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Duchesne has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Grand County will take on North Summit at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Summit is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.1 points per game.
