Basketball Recap: Pine River-Backus Comes Up Short

Pine River-Backus lost against Nevis back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Pine River-Backus had to suffer through an 84-49 loss at the hands of Nevis. While losing is never fun, Pine River-Backus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Nevis is ranked 67th).

Pine River-Backus dropped their record down to 12-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Nevis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Pine River-Backus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Browerville will need to watch out since Nevis has now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
