Basketball Preview: Pender Pendragons vs. Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays

After three games on the road, Pender is heading back home. They and the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Pender has not done well against the recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Pender simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the 53-26 on the road. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Pender did.

Pender's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alex Roth, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, and Zander Welsh, who scored 12 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gannon Walsh, who scored six points.

Even though Guardian Angels Central Catholic has not done well against the Braves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic secured a 49-44 W over the Braves. The win made it back-to-back wins for Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

Pender is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
