Basketball Recap: East Central Comes Up Short

East Central lost against Wayne County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The East Central Hornets had to suffer through a 58-27 loss at the hands of the Wayne County War Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the War Eagles are ranked 85th).

East Central's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Wayne County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Central has already played their next match (against Stone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wayne County will take on Vancleave at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne County is facing Vancleave at the right time seeing as Vancleave is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
