Basketball Game Preview: Bremond Tigers vs. Burton Panthers

Bremond is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Burton is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bremond Tigers face off against the Burton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bremond will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 24 points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Somerville on Friday. Bremond claimed a resounding 75-4 win over Somerville. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Yeguas are ranked 1545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Burton hadn't done well against Iola recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Burton breezed by Iola to the tune of 57-21.

Bremond has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.3 points. As for Burton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Bremond didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Burton in their previous meeting on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. Does Bremond have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
