Football Game Preview: North Pontotoc Vikings vs. Houston Hilltoppers + Official Tickets

The North Pontotoc Vikings will take on the Houston Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Houston will be up against a hot North Pontotoc squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 55-34 margin over Tishomingo County on Friday. Considering the Vikings have won seven matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Winfun continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 107 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 274 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes. North Pontotoc's leading receiver Dee Slaughter was Winfun's top target yet again, picking up 179 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Houston). They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Mooreville 56-22. The Hilltoppers not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since November 7, 2024 (when they won 41-0).

North Pontotoc's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Houston, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-7.
