Softball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Western Christian

Kennedy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Western Christian Pioneers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Grace Traeger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Traeger was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabriela Farnsworth, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Brianna Traeger was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Kennedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Kennedy back to even at 5-5. As for Western Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kennedy is set to take on their familiar foe Colton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Western Christian will face off against rival Country Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
