Basketball Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wilton can now relate to. They came up short against the Staples Wreckers on Saturday, falling 76-54. The Warriors have struggled against the Wreckers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Staples to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Tobias, who went 7-for-9 en route to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Tobias has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played. Henry Vesiid also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Wilton now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Staples, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Wilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Staples, they will take on Ludlowe at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
