Football Game Preview: Gateway Charter Academy Gators vs. Trinity Leadership Tigers + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Gateway Charter Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Trinity Leadership Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gateway Charter Academy has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Trinity Leadership will arrive with three straight victories.

Things were looking good for Gateway Charter Academy after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Cross Roads by a score of 21-18. While the Gators didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 6-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity Leadership). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-19 win over Venus. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Gateway Charter Academy better keep an eye on Londen Cook. He was instrumental in Trinity Leadership's win, throwing for 260 yards and five TDs on only 15 passes, while also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown. Damian Demas did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 50 receiving yards.

Trinity Leadership didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Zion Love, Javan Shields, and Demas picked up one apiece. Shields is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Gateway Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Trinity Leadership, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
