Nanuet had won five straight games and Ciara Cortes did her part to make it six on Wednesday. The Golden Knights came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Pearl River Pirates with plenty of help from Cortes, who had 18 assists and 14 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Nanuet was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17, 15-7.

Nanuet's win bumped their record up to 12-10-1. As for Pearl River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Nanuet wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeland on the 1st. Pearl River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
