Volleyball Recap: Kewaunee Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Sturgeon Bay last Thursday, Kewaunee came back down to earth. The Storm fell just short of the Southern Door Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Kewaunee took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Jadelynn Kroll paced Kewaunee's offense, picking up nine kills. Kroll got some help from London Karnopp and her 26 assists. Finally, Ali Obry kept Kewaunee's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Kewaunee's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Southern Door, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Kewaunee will head out to face off against Hortonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Door, after both having extra time off, they and Gibraltar will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
