Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

The Sunnyslope Vikings will take on the Campo Verde Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyslope knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Campo Verde likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Sunnyslope humbled Desert Vista with a 70-36 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Sunnyslope's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darius Wabbington, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Rider Portela, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Campo Verde posted their closest win since December 11, 2023 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chaparral, sneaking past 60-57.

Sunnyslope pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Campo Verde, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Sunnyslope took their victory against Campo Verde in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 64-43. Does Sunnyslope have another victory up their sleeve, or will Campo Verde turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
