Volleyball Recap: Whetstone Comes Up Short

Whetstone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Watterson Eagles. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Whetstone took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 24-26, 25-19, 15-6.

Whetstone's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Bishop Watterson, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-7.

Coming up, Whetstone will be playing in front of their home fans against Tree of Life Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Watterson, they will venture away from home to take on Newark at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
