Football Recap: Leland Cubs vs. Charleston Tigers
After soaring to 36 points the game before, Leland was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 38-8 loss at the hands of the Charleston Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.
Charleston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Flowers Jr led the charge by rushing for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. Flowers Jr's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 132 rushing yards. Devon Olive was another key signal caller, throwing for 241 yards and three TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing.
Leland's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Charleston, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
