Football Game Preview: Pine View Panthers vs. Hurricane Tigers + How To Watch

The Pine View Panthers will square off against the Hurricane Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine View has given up an average of 29.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pine View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Snow Canyon, who was ranked 20th at the time (Pine View was ranked 23rd). The matchup between the Panthers and the Warriors didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 35-21. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Levi Shaw and Parker Olson. Olson had a great game on Friday and threw for 333 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.8% of his passes. Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hurricane). They blew past Dixie 49-2 on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 33-point advantage.

One reason for the win was Hurricane's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Tanner Matua was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

The defeat snapped Pine View's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Hurricane, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Pine View has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 289.2 passing yards per game.
