Baseball Recap: Germantown Triumphs

Germantown proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Kossuth Aggies 5-4.

Germantown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another was Brooks Hardy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Germantown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kossuth, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Germantown will venture away from home to take on Starkville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kossuth, they will head out to face off against Horn Lake at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
