Softball Recap: West Field Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Field ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Logan Grizzlies, sneaking past 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Ella Doxey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Brylee Leatherwood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

West Field's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Logan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, West Field will take on Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something West Field surely won't give up without a fight. As for Logan, they will face off against Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan's pitchers better be ready for this one: Syracuse has averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
