Soccer Game Preview: Glenvar vs. Bruton

The Glenvar Highlanders will face off against the Bruton Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Glenvar is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Glenvar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Clarke County by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Glenvar's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Clarke County are ranked 187th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bruton faced off against Radford on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering Bruton have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Bruton and bumps their season record up to 13-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Glenvar, they pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Glenvar took their win against Bruton in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Do the Highlanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
