Basketball Recap: Nelson Island Extends Winning Streak to Four

Nelson Island came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Akula Elitnaurvik Tundra Foxes with points to spare, taking the game 69-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Islanders also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Nelson Island's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Nelson Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-72 win against Z John Williams on the 24th. As for Akula Elitnaurvik, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-53 victory against Chief Paul Memorial on the 25th.
