Baseball Recap: Ashland Triumphs

Ashland proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Wayland Warriors 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Clockers have posted since May 2, 2025.

Michael Schreiber made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Oliver Lareau and Fionn Connery did most of the damage at the plate: Lareau got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Connery went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Ashland picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-3-2. As for Wayland, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ashland will take on Dedham at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Wayland, they will face off against Bedford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
