Soccer Game Preview: Indian Land vs. Catawba Ridge

Indian Land is 0-9 against Catawba Ridge since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors will head out to face off against the Copperheads at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Things were looking good for Indian Land after they put the first goals on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Nation Ford who was credited with the win. The Falcons got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Indian Land's two. While losing is never fun, Indian Land can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Nation Ford are ranked 13th).

Catawba Ridge is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Mill just ended the team's nine-game winning streak last Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Yellow Jackets who were credited with the victory. Fort Mill got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Catawba Ridge's three.

This is the second loss in a row for Indian Land and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Catawba Ridge, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.

Indian Land came up short against Catawba Ridge in their previous meeting back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
