Baseball Recap: Beachwood Takes a Loss

Beachwood had lost nine straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it ten. They fell 4-0 to the Lutheran West Longhorns. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Beachwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

As for Lutheran West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Lutheran West's side, Jansen Gross tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Petrigac, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was AJ Biascochea, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Beachwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Kirtland on the 15th. As for Lutheran West, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against North Olmsted on the 15th.
