Basketball Game Preview: Sayville Golden Flashes vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs

The Sayville Golden Flashes will start their season against the Mount Sinai Mustangs. Tip off is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sayville will be up against a hot Mount Sinai squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Mount Sinai took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 77-15 victory over Hampton Bays. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

As for Sayville, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the right side of .500 (11-9), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year.

Things could have been worse for Sayville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-41 loss to Mount Sinai in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Sayville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
