Baseball Recap: Desert Edge Victorious

The Desert Edge Scorpions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Arizona College Prep Knights on Monday. That's two games straight that the Scorpions have won by just one run.

Caden Sheehan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits. Desert Edge is undefeated when Sheehan allows three or fewer hits, but 4-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Desert Edge and bumps their season record up to 7-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Arizona College Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11.

As of now, neither Desert Edge nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
