Softball Game Preview: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Orange County Fighting Hornets

Charlottesville is 0-10 against Orange County since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Black Knights will square off against the Fighting Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Charlottesville has given up an average of 17.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Charlottesville is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They lost 19-1 to Western Albemarle.

Meanwhile, Orange County didn't have quite enough to beat Riverbend on Friday and fell 4-3.

Orange County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Charlottesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Charlottesville suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Orange County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
