Basketball Recap: Thurston's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Thurston entered their tilt with North Eugene on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over the North Eugene Highlanders. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Highlanders are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, North Eugene still got an impressive performance from Zach Fisher, who went 6 of 7 en route to 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the most points Fisher has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Damon Keith, who posted ten points.

Thurston's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for North Eugene, they moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Thurston will take on Eagle Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thurston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Eagle Point likes a good challenge. As for North Eugene, they will head out to square off against Crater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
