Preview: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies
The Laguna Beach Breakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Laguna Beach's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Godinez Fundamental has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Laguna Beach got themselves on the board against Ocean View, but Ocean View never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-0 victory over the Seahawks. The result was nothing new for Laguna Beach, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Jackson Kollock continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt. Kollock is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Redmond Chesley, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental was beaten by Westminster 47-13 on Thursday. Godinez Fundamental was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-0.
Although Godinez Fundamental took the loss, they still got scores from Alexis Jimenez and Kevin Contreras.
Laguna Beach's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Godinez Fundamental's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
