Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the Brentwood Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-4 loss last Tuesday.

Franklin got a good showing from Hudson Minor, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Cory Hoard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Franklin: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Doran, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Brentwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 victory against Lawson on the 21st. As for Brentwood, they have also already played their next match, an 11-1 win against Father Ryan on the 21st.
