There's no place like home for Nucla, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Ignacio Bobcats 4-3. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 15-0 win the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jake Hulst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Platt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson McCabe, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Nucla's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Ignacio, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Nucla will head out to face off against Dove Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ignacio, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinidad at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats are facing the Miners at the right time seeing as the Miners are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
